The math makeover starts...NOW!! My 1st grade students love math but we are in need of some FUN and EXCITING math manipulatives, center activities and books to go with our Math concepts and are aligned to the Common Core.
I teach 1st grade at an elementary school in Louisiana.
I have 22 eager to learn students who come to school daily ready to take on the day!
The 1st graders that you would be helping love to explore and enjoy working together. By having fun and engaging activities, my students will gain knowledge and gather experiences that will last a lifetime.
My Project
I have requested sand timers, nonfiction math leveled readers, Common Core Math Standards learning centers, addition and subtraction centers, double-sided counters, foam dice, and linking cubes for my students. By having theses manipulatives and center activities, my students will get the necessary hands-on learning experiences that are needed for a strong math foundation. They will also be able to work on social skills by working in small groups.
Math comes alive through the use of hands-on activities. This will allow them the opportunity to experience math without worksheets.
