This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students come from a majority of low income homes and all receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school is a Title I school and our students also receive free weekend food bags. Our student body is made up of a culturally diverse group of students that are hard working and have big dreams of their own. Our students have enough hardships outside of the classroom that they should not have to experience them at school. When they come to class so full of life and eagerness to learn, I am there to meet them head on and give them the skills and knowledge of learning that will help them throughout their entire lives.
KINDERGARTEN is where the adventure begins!!
I tell my students how important it is to learn and work together to make a difference in this world. We have a saying in our class:
"WHO IS SMART?", they say "I AM SMART!", then they turn to their neighbor and say, "YOU ARE SMART AND TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!!"
My Project
The storage bins will hold each students supplies for their daily learning. The extra care of staying safe and clean in school is a new must for this year. It’s so important for each student to have their own space for their individual supplies. We also need a special place to keep certain materials that can stay separated from others. Having their own individual dry erase markers and erasers will be beneficial for each student’s learning. All of my students will be able to have a place to keep their own supplies handy for the days they are at school!
