I teach in a low socioeconomic school. Students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch every day.
The students at our school are one of a kind who have been through so much.
In the last 3 years our students have been devastated by 2 hurricanes that impacted our town and their home. The last hurricane, Florence, damaged our school and we were out of school for 5 weeks. These students deserve the ability to learn. That is why I am asking you to help me provide them with tools that will help them learn and succeed. They come to school every day ready to learn and I want to help them in the best way I can.
The supplies I am requesting for my students are going to help them to be more organized students. When they come to school and do not have room in their desks for all of their materials their areas become messy. When students have messy and cluttered areas it is harder for them to focus during class. These chair pockets will help to ensure students have plenty of room on and in their desks, which will help prevent loss of materials.
These materials will be able to help my students learn how to stay organized and responsible.
These will give my students plenty of space in and on their desks for their daily activities without the distractions.
