Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first grade teacher in a low income, high-need community. Most of my students come from bilingual houses and come to school not reading.
My students lack critical comprehension skills that help them read. I use many books in my classroom to help them, but sometimes they need different materials to help drive home the skills.
The resource books I have requested will allow my students to focus on a specific skill one at a time. I lack these materials in my classroom and using them I think would make a big difference. These teacher resource books will allow me to make copies of these blackline masters to use for individualized instruction during small groups. I will use the specific skill that that group needs. It will definitely help their reading comprehension, which is my main goal for my students.
I've also requested some classroom essentials that are missing in my classroom that will help make our day flow better.
Please help my students have a better understand of reading by providing these teacher resource books for daily practice.
