I currently teach the English/Language Arts section for 95 amazing and inquisitive mixed-ability 5th graders! Our classroom is a positive learning environment with a lot of whole class and small group discussions related to literature and writing. My students love discovering new and exciting reading and writing materials!
My students come to school eager to learn and make new discoveries each and every school day.
We live in a wonderful, family-oriented community. However, budgets are always extremely tight in our district, so any extra funding is so helpful for our students.
My Project
A class set of Scholastic's Storyworks Magazines will provide my students with engaging and entertaining reading material from a variety of different genres. In this magazine, students can read non-fiction articles, reader's theater plays, poems, fairytales and so much more!
5th graders need reading materials that will capture their attention, encourage them to ask questions, and allow them to make connections to their reading.
Storyworks Magazine is full of fascinating articles and stories that will aid in insightful small group and whole class discussions.
As a teacher, it is always wonderful to see those lightbulb moments during reading discussions. The engaging articles in this magazine will be an additional tool to foster a love of reading in my classroom!
