This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are curious fourth graders. They love to discover and learn by being total participants in their education. Our home is in an urban district where supplies are limited. My students lack materials needed to complete activities that allow them to be hands-on and active during learning.
I have a wide range of students each year, whom benefit from learning that allows them to be active participants.
My students and I work very hard to continue to grow as learners. As a teacher, I try to provide my students with materials that allow them to be active participants in their learning with peer to peer interactions.
My Project
Scholastic News will create a wonderful opportunity for students to gain information about many different topics. I remember reading Scholastic News in school and I don't know if that's where I gained my love for nonfiction texts, but my favorite day was Scholastic News day. I hope that my students will love reading Scholastic as much as I did.
Scholastic News will help keep students excited about reading nonfiction articles as well as keep them up to date with current events.
I want to foster my students' love of learning. This magazine will enhance our learning experience by giving us an interesting resource to get students excited about learning.
