My Students

I teach in a rural, title one school in southeast Oklahoma. We are a first through third grade school. I teach second grade science and social studies. We have a high poverty rate and very diverse ethnic backgrounds. This is my first year in my district.

My Project

My second graders will use these resources to learn and have discussions about current events and science. Scholastic News and Science Spin with help expose my students to cultures outside of their comfort zone.

Scholastic News and Science Spin will help my students become informed about events and topics they hear about each and every day!

My students will use the videos that come with the magazines to help further their knowledge. They will be able to have online access to their subscriptions as well. This will help in the event of having to learn to remote learning again.
