This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My new adventure has brought me to my new students in second grade.
These students are a group of eager, head strong minds that are driven by creativity.
They are eager learners of all abilities levels. When they come through my door, they are all on the same playing field and work together to reach their goals. For some, the challenge is not only in the classroom but also, in their own minds. Their minds are always racing and thinking and sometimes, they do not know how to positively and safely release their energy. Having hands on activities help them release their energy in a safe and creative way. We want all of their dreams to come true and have no obstacle stand in their way. "If you can dream it, you can do it!" ~ Walt Disney.
My Project
My students need their own subscription to Scholastic News. Scholastic News will give my students a new resource for Science and Social Studies. They will have a different type of nonfiction right at their fingertips for classroom and home use.
Scholastic News will spark interest with the real world articles and photographs.
Scholastic News will help to expand my students resources and minds as they dig deep into the text. With the Scholastic News subscription, they will also have links to interactive lessons that can be used in the classroom and at home.
This subscription will be something my students look for every week.
