My Students

My Bilingual (Dual-Language) classroom is full of fun, potential, and diversity. We learn in two languages every day according to the Gomez and Gomez model. Each student has his or her own unique story and personality.

All of my students on my campus receive free or reduced lunch and breakfast in the classroom.

As a teacher at a Title 1 campus where many our students are classified as economically disadvantaged, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students come to school eager to learn because they know that education is their ticket to success.

Our Title I campus is made up of over 600 students. A high percentage of the students on our campus receive free or reduced lunch. Our population is primarily Hispanic and English Language Learners. Despite these challenges, my students come to school each day ready and excited to learn.

Many of my kids don't come from much but their eagerness and desire to learn inspires me each and every day.

My Project

A quality literacy program requires rigorous and engaging texts for students to read. Scholastic News provides kid friendly current events into the class while building reading skills and content knowledge. The magazines provide on level non-fiction articles with ready to go lesson plans and an online resource to help build comprehension and vocabulary. I will be able to help differentiate instruction to my students who struggle in reading. All in all, these resources will help them excel in our state standardized tests.

Access to these quality resources will motivate and inspire my students to become lifelong readers, thinkers, and learners.
