My students are in the process of creating tomorrow's world and I am in need of your help! Our school is located in a school park! We are lucky to have the outdoors at our fingertips and we would love to bring our books outside! We want to read in the world! My students are kind, caring, loving individuals who are excited to continue their reading adventure! After our middle of the year state testing, we have grown an average of 3.6 reading levels! Wow! The only problem is we don't have enough higher level books to accommodate us. What a great problem to have!
My Project
Ms. Austin's class is back again! We have just completed our middle of the year state testing, and boy have our reading levels grown! We are so excited and proud of ourselves but we have a problem! We are out of books!
Our reading levels have outgrown our materials- what a great problem to have!
Our hope is that this DonorsChoose.org project will help us purchase higher level reading books for our class. During the day we have a special time set aside for independent reading. Ours is a personalized learning school. In our classroom we each have an individualized reading level, goal and strategy to focus on. These books will help us with our personal learning goals of 2018.
In this DonorsChoose.org project we have included levels suitable for all our students' needs. Right now we are reading books from levels G to K and we couldn't be more excited! First graders are expected to read at a level J by the end of the year. Help us reach our goal with more reading supplies!
