My Students

Our school empowers scholars to be advocates for their education, and defend their right to a great education. They are curious, creative, thoughtful, and full of questions.

My school is an urban school that serves families from kindergarten to 8th grade.

The kids that I teach are amazing young ladies and men that are eager to learn each and every day. They work hard on all of the tasks that are put in front of them, because they know that I believe in them.

My Project

My scholars have worked very hard this school year to improve their writing; however, due to a broken printer and budget cuts, it has been nearly impossible to publish their work. My kids have grown as writers throughout the year, and have been learning how to properly write assignments using Microsoft Word. Eager to show the accomplishments of my kids, we are asking for a new classroom printer and toner.

Additionally, my kids conduct research on a regular basis, and having a working printer will allow them to have a hard copy of information, as well as the opportunity to print pictures.

A group of my kids are interested in starting a newspaper, and having a new printer will allow them the opportunity to have the power of the press.
