The students in my class are kind, full of energy, and ready to learn. Many of my students come from broken homes, poverty, or different countries and speak a variety of languages. My students try their best, but often times, their background keeps them being successful at school. So, I do my best to create a safe and comforting learning environment where students can thrive.
Despite their many hardships, my students come in every morning with a smile on their face and eager to learn!
I teach at a Title I school in Indiana. The diversity in my school is absolutely amazing. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and 75% receive free/reduced lunch. Also, 30% of the population are ELL with more than 30 different countries being represented.
My Project
Headphones are an essential classroom supply. Since my students speak many different languages, we use technology in different ways. Google Translate, audiobooks, and various online activities are used throughout the day. As you can imagine, it can get a little bit noisy.
By donating to this project, you will help students stay focused on the task at hand, ultimately, increasing their academic success.
During guided reading and independent reading these headphone are crucial. With class space being limited, small groups are close together, so, students can have difficulty staying on task. The use of headphones will keep noise level to a minimum and maximize student engagement.
