We are constantly moving forward and pushing for greatness. My students come from a wide variety of homes and backgrounds. No matter where they've come from, or how much money their parents make, they come to school with a smile each day, eager to learn.
We take pride in our classroom, school, and our work.
We love to enrich our minds with as much math, reading, writing, and technology as we can.
Our school is in a rural area in Idaho within a small school district, and we are tackling Common Core and implementing programs like Lucy Caulkins, Nat Geo Reach, i-Ready and Istation to the fullest of our abilities. Hands-on learning is the new pen and paper, and is the future for generations to come. I want to make sure my students are prepared to take on the world!
In a new era of learning we need to continue to be flexible and innovate with our teaching and our classroom dynamics. We need to continue to allow and encourage our students to think outside of their desks and beyond their seats. My students are very individualized learners, and should be able to make the choice to sit in an area or place that best meets their learning needs. Allowing students to have that choice also allows them to take ownership and accountability of their education and their learning. It also decreases the amount of behaviors that can come with having larger class sizes.
