This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in an urban low income school district in Pennsylvania. I am a full time supplemental self-contained learning support teacher. I service both third and fourth grade students.
My students come from very diverse backgrounds.
The majority of my students come from single parent homes or are being raised by a relative of some sort. They all qualify for free lunch, and many receive food substitutions as a part of our school's backpack program. Regardless of their home lives, these students enter my room each morning with a bright smile. Their ability to push past daily stress from the outside world is truly amazing.
Any and all donations I request through DonorsChoose.org benefit my kiddos directly and help make my classroom a better learning environment.
My Project
I am requesting a Cricut paper cutting machine and supplies. I am planning to teach my students how to create and build online. We will then cut their projects and make them come to life!
This machine will give my students the change to express themselves without limit!
This machine can take anything from a simple letter to a child's picture and cut an exact replica.
We will use this project to design decorations for our room, create writing projects, and explore our creativity. I am so excited to share this technology with my kiddos and give them an opportunity they would not otherwise have.
