Our school is a combination of three schools (two closed), we but only were able to add eight classrooms. We are landlocked and cannot get the room we need.
Our students are all on free breakfast and lunch accounts, needing food and clothing programs.
Many families participate in our parenting programs after school to help our students. However, as times change, many of our parents are struggling as single parents with two jobs. Some students are unable to have the time with their families that lead to reading books, holding long conversations, and finances restrict their ability to excel in school.
Even though our community stays involved, it is a struggle to get what they need. Our PTA is small, but growing. We teach safety, challenge students, and get them ready for life. There are many challenges in the classroom. Our class sizes continue to grow.
My Project
We need various media supplies, such as markers, paint, glue, brushes, etc. With budget cuts and larger class sizes, the student need resources. Having the materials, they need will help them express themselves creatively. Some are reusable, but most is consumable.
We need the supplies to help draw or paint or collage our ideas, to help convey meaning, and to be individuals.
Kids love color and things that are new or used in new ways. These materials will help the kids be more interested and let us have more art experiences in the classroom. Loving school makes it easier and helps parents like it, too. Help us make learning fun for them.
