Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am a first year 1st grade teacher working in a low-income, high-need school on the South Side of Chicago.

Remember going to class and your teacher announcing that today you will be able to start a new project? Remember all the different "goodies" that would be placed in front of you that you can cut, paste or decorate with? I want to provide my students with that chance but unfortunately we do not have the materials to express ourselves with.

You can help by contributing to our proposal which will allow us to have the different art supplies that will make it possible for my students to start new projects. Scissors, sequins, tissue squares, beads are just a few of the art supplies we are requesting.

A small donation for a few art & crafts supplies will make a huge difference in the experiences of my 1st graders. Please be the generous person that will help donate to this proposal.
