My Students

To study our environment we desperately need microscopes that would spark the students' exploration of science, allow us to develop experiments, and encourage the excitement of science.

This public school in Hawaii has students who want to understand their environment and are excited by hands on activities.

My class would actively engage with microscopes, and I anticipate them bringing in lots of things that they would want to look at, in addition to the slides that I would have prepared.

My Project

Learning about the environment can't be done from just a text book. Children want to use the tools that scientists use, and that includes microscopes. I would like to have enough microscopes so that small groups would be able to share them. We would use them when studying our ecosystem and the differences between plant and animal cells.

I want my students to have a positive attitude toward science, and therefore a demanding curriculum needs to be balanced with activities and exploration that children find exciting, sparks their imaginations, and maybe is even fun.

That's what microscopes can do for us.
