Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Holland Middle School is a Title 1 school located in Baldwin Park, California. During the academic school day I teach Math, and this year I have started a new club on campus that meets after school--Art Club!
The Art Club is open to all students on campus!
Our first few meetings have drawn students from all grade levels who are interested in learning more about drawing, painting and the creative process. Students are excited to begin drawing and working on projects!
My Project
The Art Club is a new club on campus this year at Holland Middle School. Our club is open to all students and meets once a week after school to explore various art techniques, styles, and to allow for a creative space for students to have fun.
We have started to explore watercolors and are in need of watercolor paper.
With your support we would be able to use the correct paper for watercolor painting. At the moment, we are using scratch paper that crinkles from being over saturated, but the students are doing just fine practicing brush stroke techniques and learning to control the paint.
We would love to get actual watercolor paper so that students may create finished works! Thank you for your support and generous donations. We are having such a fun time tapping into our creative sides!
