My Students

The boys and girls in my school are your typical six- and seven-year-old children with one major difference.

My students are the dependents of active military personnel, who experience deployment and/or relocation on a daily, weekly, and even monthly basis.

If it is not affecting them, it is affecting a friend or family member. It is sad to see students transfer out, but there is excitement for them as they begin their new journey. The faces in our school community may change as families move from base to base, but the love and support of our teachers and staff remain steadfast. With each new day and each new student, we remain resolved to provide our students with the most current educational practices and technologies.

My Project

Students using the Oculus Virtual Reality headsets will explore immersive, educational, and fun learning experiences. Using virtual reality headsets will help my students tour a variety of environments making them feel like they are actually there in those spaces.

Students will travel to places around the world and throughout the universe to explore the beauty of national parks, soar to the heights of outer space, stand in the footsteps of legendary astronauts, navigate the Solar System, view constellations, ride epic roller coasters, and even explore the depth of the ocean floor.

These virtual field trips are just the beginning of a long list of educational experiences my students will enjoy learning with the Oculus VR headsets and equipment.
