Head Start is a place that gives students a jump start to their education. Our school services low income families and provides them with the resources they need to live full, successful lives. I feel so blessed to become part of the Luzerne County Head Start family last year.
Our classroom is a new classroom in the Plains Center in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
We have seventeen energetic, funny three, four, and five year olds. I absolutely love that every day is an adventure in our room. However, we are still in need of many things to best meet the needs of our students.
My Project
Head Start services a diverse population of students. In our classroom, we have a wide variety of needs and abilities.
In order to meet these needs, we are in constant need of new materials.
We are asking for these sensory materials to give our students a chance to explore with their hands. Not only will the students have fun using these materials, but it will also provide a calming experience.
There are many times where some our students become overwhelmed with the sound level in the classroom. The new materials will provide a quieter experience to those who need it.
