Exploring the World Through a Literacy Listening Center

Help me give my students a creative listening center that will allow my students to independently explore the world of literature.

My Students

My students are an energetic group of kindergarteners that love to socialize and learn. My students often tell me how much they love coming to school to see their friends and teachers. I feel that COVID has hindered these social opportunities for these students in the past, and now they are ready to learn and grow with their peers.

My Project

Kindergarten is often students' first experiences with reading and text. I believe that this project will help create a fun and interactive listening reading center in our classroom library. With the listening center, my students will be able to independently explore the world as they listen and follow along to different stories.

My goal is for the listening center to strengthen my students' reading skills and love for literacy.

Our listening center will also introduce my students to different cultures and values by reading books about stories from all over the world. This center will allow my students the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about the stories and strengthen their communication skills. I believe that adding this listening center to our library, it will benefit my students in many aspects of their education.
