Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I school from the small city of Sanger, east of Fresno, Ca. Our students come from a variety of economic backgrounds. I believe that the diversity of our students adds to their passion and dedication of learning. This year I have an amazing group of second graders. I enjoy watching them explore and learn both in and out of the classroom.
They are very curious learners and always have questions about how things work along with having ideas of how things can be changed or improved upon.
Animal and life science is an area of learning that I feel will help foster their curious minds.
My Project
My curious learners need new ways to explore and be inspired throughout the day. They are motivated learners that want daily hands on learning experiences. We are asking for help in purchasing Animal and Life Science activity kits and supplies to integrate science into other areas of learning, such as English Language Arts. These materials will be used as part of our English Language Arts and Life Science units.
Animal and life science activities will help my students think more critically and creatively preparing them for future jobs in science and conservation.
Our class wants to go to the next level of learning with a aquaponics water garden and the butterfly life cycle kit and we believe that these products will help us get there.
