This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember how much fun you had exploring science as a kid? Science is much more fun when there are hands-on experiences and we all know students learn more from doing rather than sitting and listening to lectures.
My students are 2nd graders in a Title I community school.
They come from a variety of backgrounds. These students also vary in the experiences they bring with them to school. They love hands-on experiments and can tell you much more about what they are learning when they have these opportunities. They also love reading about science.
My Project
With the resources I am requesting, my students will develop a deeper understanding of Matter and Forces & Motion. The books related to the science topics will also enhance their understanding if the subject matter. The kits will allow them to do hands-on experiments in these areas. The future for these students will require them to be problem solvers and critical thinkers. Using these kits will help with both of these areas.
These donations would improve my students' understanding of science topics.
Students who have hands-on experiences internalize what they have learned and the information is more meaningful for them.
