My students are extremely curious and, since it is their first year in an all-day structured program, they transition often from guided instruction to free choice learning. We have learning center time and a state-approved curriculum to keep them on track with other children their age in our state. I tell my students that they are the "Best kids in Texas" and our motto is "We are all friends."
I teach Pre-Kindergarten students at a Title I school in Texas, where we are currently recovering from Hurricane Harvey.
All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. The majority of my students are English Language Learners and have lots of excitement about school.
My Project
Each day, my young students are actively exploring their world. With multiple applications and games, a child develops reactions, learns how to use its hands and manage things with finger-swipes.
We would love to learn through tablets in our classroom to keep up with the way children learn today which is on tablets such as the Kindle Fire and PBS Playtime Pad.
My students learn using technology through animations and educational games that show how things move and reveal the world the way it is, unlike pictures where a kid might learn something but can’t see or imagine how this something happens.
