This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Each day, when my students walk into my classroom, they are bursting with energy. My students learn best through action.

When they have the opportunity to move about the classroom, sit in different places making decisions about their own learning, and use their hands, they are not only happier but learn significantly more.

All students can benefit from a hands-on, choice filled learning environment that places emphasis on problem based learning. Center time is also a great way to build social and problem solving skills and build tolerance through learning together.

My Project

Many of my students are unable to explore or relate to the world around them for various reasons. Their views on other people, other cultures, and other places are very limited because they have not been exposed to it. They have very little knowledge of how things are made and where things come. Using Chromebooks allows my students to explore the world and learn about other people, places, and cultures. When students are able to study and understand things or people that are different from them, they are able to have a greater capacity to bring about acceptance and compassion.
