Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In the heart of Washington, DC, my students love Social Studies and Math class! I work with middle and upper elementary grade levels. The students thrive when learning new content and ideas! Our school is very diverse, and we are a Dual Language school. We share and learn in multiple languages.

A passion we all share is learning about our local community, the United States, and even the universe!

This year the students are learning a lot about different mindsets. We discuss differences between the growth and fixed mindsets. Listening and observing the students try their best to develop a growth mindset is incredibly inspiring. Our learning community is working individually and together to become better people, and this creates the best environment for lifelong learning.

My Project

These resources will enhance small group instruction including guided reading, research, and project based learning in multiple classrooms. Many of the texts highlighted in this DonorsChoose Project will make our curricular units even more engaging. The books and games will be used at school.

These resources will support students to expand their curiosity and understanding.

Many of our students collaborate to complete projects involving research. The books will be a great addition to our classroom libraries. Multiple classes will have access to these texts. The games and manipulatives will truly provide the hands-on experience we strive for.
