Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 20 five and six-year-olds. My students have a passion for learning and are always trying to find new ways to do things. They are critical thinkers and want to do their best. They have a bright future and want to go to college and gain the best education possible. Most of my 20 students are economically disadvantaged. Despite their home life, they come to school every day with a smile on their faces and ready to learn!

My Project

These resources will help my students think outside the box creating shapes and letters that we have learned. These manipulatives will help open up my student's creative minds and explore different ways we can do things! Most kindergarten students are kinesthetic learners and need hands-on activities to deepen their knowledge of the world around them. We use letters daily when creating names, words, stories and yet some children still have trouble recognizing these letters. Letter construction will help these students explore the letters and be able to recall them. Building geometric shapes will also help students recognize the attributes of shapes around us including how many vertices and edges they need to create the shapes.
