My students and I live in Virginia and are part of a design school for our county. Our school, while still being public, is focused on providing students with authentic and hands-on learning experiences each day. Our entire school day is centered around project-based learning and completely worksheet-free.
I teach in a special-education inclusion classroom and my students come from over a dozen different ethnic backgrounds.
I have never met such a creative, considerate, and resilient group of kids! They are energetic, curious, and love to explore the world around them! We focus each day on being positive world changers who inspire and build each other up.
My Project
The benefits of sensory play in the classroom are endless! Especially with Kindergarten students and students with special needs. These supplies will be used to create sensory bins for the classroom. With these supplies we will be able to create a variety of different sensory exploration bins. Some will be used to explore and play, some for sensory-based academic tasks, and others for sensory breaks for our students with developmental disabilities.
Sensory bins provide children with the opportunity to explore and learn through hands-on tactile play that engages their senses.
These bins encourage and support social, physical, and academic development! Your donation will help provide this experience to our youngest learners!
