This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

The sun is shining and the world is turning. Let's discover how the sun helps the world turn.

Supplies are short in my classroom and my students are very visual and hands-on learners. Having a kit like this will give them a hands-on experience of the sun and how it gives us energy, and will allow my students to really see what our science book talks about. It will bring science alive for them, which they so desperately need in order to comprehend the subject matter.

I found a kit that will allow me to organize and bring science alive for my students. I will be able to set up different experiences for each of the students in my room. Forming groups will give me the opportunity to have all my students work on different experiments as a team and continue to build self-esteem and a work ethic. This will lead into presentations and the feeling of accomplishment when they are finished. Which is just what the doctor ordered for these students to see that learning does really matter, it is fun and each and everyone of them can do it. Even in a subject like science where many of them struggle.

With your help this goal will be possible. I will be able to bring a real experience into my classroom. It will empower my students with motivation and a sense of self-ownership of their education.
