Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a high-need neighborhood school. Teaching here is personally and professionally rewarding; not only do I work with students most in need but I have a chance to develop long lasting relationships with my students, their family and the community. The students at my school are creative, resilient, and compassionate. They are always pushing forward and ready to learn. They are always excited to learn new things. They like asking questions and doing hand-on activities.
In my classroom I want students to value a collaborative spirit.
I want to work closely with parents to provide children with a joyful and positive school experience. Working together, we will ensure each and everyone of our students has a great year. In my class I want students to feel comfortable. I want them to be able to learn and I want to be able to provide them with the tools needed for them to succeed.
My Project
In my classroom I want students to use their imaginations to take them into the different worlds of literature. With these books students will be able to explore new worlds and they will want to keep reading more. Reading is very powerful and I hope my students enjoy these books. I want to spark an interest in my students. I want them to want to keep reading and that is only possible by providing them with books that they enjoy, relate to and understand.
Books are powerful.
And I hope that I can give this power to my students. They can use their imaginations and explore the worlds of literature.
