Help me give my students more supplies to explore different art mediums like clay and painting! The most expensive item in my cart is actually water color paper, which is needed to hold paint on the surface!
I love how students show up ready to work in the art room and always excited to ask "what are we making today?" I have seen the benefit of art lessons this year, even in the virtual only environment. I cannot tell you what it means to open an image of a smiling student with their art work made from home with a guided lesson from me. I can still "connect" with them from afar, in a world and year that feels so far from normal. We need these supplies to be able to try to give some art tools to students learning from home. Often students don't have things to create art at home, these additional supplies would allow me to create some art kits for virtual students. Both in the art classroom with hybrid learning and virtual art at home, kids can take a deep breath from the stress and just create!
My Project
I am hoping these materials will allow students to explore different art mediums like clay and paint. At least once a day, I hear a students say, we want to paint! We need the watercolor paper to have both the texture and stamina to hold paint. These supplies could also allow me to create some take home art kits for our virtual students. I have many faithful little artists working virtually, but they often lack the supplies at home. Students having access to exciting new mediums like clay and paint, will give them new opportunities to create.
In the art room the ideas are endless, but the supplies are sometimes what restrict us from moving on to new creative experiences.
Being provided with additional supplies for our art program would be huge in opening new doors for opportunity to creativity, both in school and for virtual learners due to COVID 19 pandemic.
