My lovely kindergarten students enter my owl themed classroom ready to learn through play and fun! I want my students to feel safe, successful, and cared for.

Fred Donaldson. We are a Title 1 school that has over 700 students. I have a wide variety of students from many backgrounds. Students in my classroom enjoy being active and involved. They enjoy the limited alternative seating and the ability to move around the classroom freely while learning.
My Project
My students need the opportunity to explore, create, and build objects. With the magnet sets, they can explore the strength of different magnets and see what else they can pick up using the magnets. The marble sets allow students to plan and build towers that allow marbles to flow freely. They will need to come up with a strong strategy to help them. The flower garden gears will favor the girls. Their interest in creating a garden will help strengthen their math and science skills. The playground and construction vehicles will allow familiar items to become a learning zone. Students will enjoy recreating these vehicles and equipment.
Allowing students the ability to learn through hands-on play will increase their creative thinking and reasoning skills.
Students love earning their learning toy Friday's by meeting their weekly goals. I love watching them light up and become excited about what they are designing and building. They look forward to Friday's for the ability to explore.
