This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I get to teach a group of middle school students who are bright, intelligent, insightful and above all - resilient!

Our school is located in a high-poverty area of Los Angeles County.

We are a Title I school, and 100% of our students participate in the free Federal Lunch Program. Despite the hardships many students experience, they come to school as prepared as possible to learn from their hard-working teachers and peers. Yet due to large class sizes and limited resources available, students learning also becomes limited.

My Project

Help my students learn about the world beyond their own little city. Most of my students live their whole life within a 5 mile radius from their home. While they can read and surf the web of places far away, I want to give them an immersive experience by securing these virtual reality headsets which would allow them to feel like they are actually at the places we are exploring and learning about.

They can go inside the museum of the Louvre, as if they are there in Paris.

Many of the places takes you beyond what they would normally give in physical tours, so that will be an extended learning for my students. They will get to see and experience places they will probably never have the chance to go to without these virtual reality headsets.
