Diversity in the classroom makes Geography an exciting subject to teach! My school serves 6th-8th grade students who come from all around the globe. Students are excited to learn about different cultures, interesting current events, and extraordinary traditions as they travel the world through our coursework.
Watching my students make connections from Las Vegas, NV to some of the most remote areas of the world fills me with a deep sense of pride regarding what we accomplish together inside this classroom.
I teach 225 students 8th grade Geography. Our team tries to make the subject come alive by providing students with far more than just countries, states, and capitols. We create webquests with interesting videos segments, influential music and artists, and current events to help students engage with the world around them.
While we are lucky to have Chromebooks to help us on our journey, we are woefully short on quality headphones.
If funded, this project will help build our class set of headphones so all students, regardless of socioeconomic status, can join in the education that awaits them as we explore this big, beautiful world we live in!
