My students need a new interesting library. I hope to give a comfortable place for students to read around the classroom and also provide some nonfiction text for students to learn about other countries.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low poverty area, most of my students do not have a stable home life. As their teacher I strive to provide them a stable, loving environment to come and learn in everyday.
I want to provide them with an environment that they are comfortable to learn and grow.
Most of these students are also students who have either moved around a lot or are immigrants from Spanish speaking countries so they have gaps in their education. They tend to struggle with reading, which is why I want to provide them with a comfortable place to read and grow into high levels.
My Project
This project will expand my library to include books about different countries that my students have no knowledge about. Most of my students haven't been outside our town much less explore other countries. These books will give them an opportunity to learn about other cultures and countries. We will also use these resources for our informational projects. Last year, we did not have enough resources for students to research their own countries that they were interested in. I would love for my students to do projects on a country that they are interested in.
I am also asking for different seating options for students, so that they can enjoy reading in a comfy area.
I have noticed that they are more engaged when they are not in their desk and having 30 students on my area rug does not work. I hope to give students other options to get them engaged and increase their learning and love for reading.
