My students need hands-on STEAM morning bins, (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). These will help them think outside the box, practice being engineers, work together and work on fine motor skills.
As a teacher in split economic background school my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Several of my students come from low income ESOL (English as a Second Language) house holds. My students face various challenges at home that impact their education. I am hoping to provide my students with hands on, creative and engaging learning experiences that allow them to be critical thinkers and practice teamwork.
My students are creative and curious thinkers.
My hope is that they never lose their love for learning. Each day I strive to create a fun, welcoming, and warm classroom environment.
My Project
A big push in our district last year was STEAM,(science, technology, engineering, art, and math). To continue on with this push, I would like my students to start doing hands on STEAM activities in the morning, as an alternative to pencil paper morning work. This will provide them with a creative hands on outlet first thing in the morning.
When they come into school in the morning these tubs will provide them the opportunity to start their day as engineers, explorers, scientists, mathematicians, artists, architects, and problem solvers.
My students are creators and explorers, and they deserve materials that allow them to do so. These materials will provide my students with hands on STEAM exploration.
The materials I'm requesting are magna-tiles, STEM challenge building bricks, brain flakes, maze bots and a blueprints learning center. The students will use all of these materials to build their own creations, as well as use blueprints provided to try to match what they see. We will not only use these as morning tubs, but during our literacy, math and science blocks as well.
By donating to our project, you are providing my students with materials that will help them to foster creativity, teamwork and a love of learning. Your support will empower them to be critical thinkers, collaborators, and will help me to create a classroom that is full of hands on exploring and fun!
