Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The joy and fascination of discovery that I see when they are learning something new have had me thoroughly inspired and motivated as an educator in the field of early childhood education.
My students come from low socio-economical backgrounds.
Many parents work two jobs and the time they spend with their children is very limited. This limits their learning experiences greatly.
The fascination and eagerness in their eyes when they are learning
warms my heart and I see their future in my hands.
My Project
In their world of play, their imaginations run wild. I have a very active class, with incredible energy. They need to be challenged every minute of the day. Many have instability and become over stimulated with the simple tasks at hand.
One of their favorite activities is creating with Legos, blocks, magnetic tiles, etc.
I would like to challenge them to explore creating buildings, bridges, houses, 3D shapes with the with new manipulatives.
The Magnetic Pattern Block Builders and Young Architects Design Blocks Master Set would be wonderful, stimulating and challenging activities for them. We also need a clean space to work on the floor. Learning Letters Activity Carpet - 6' x 9' is desperately needed in our classroom.
