My Students
My students at PSES walk into my classroom ready to learn and explore new things each day. My second grade class ranges from students on kindergarten level to second grade gifted students. While this can sometimes be a challenge, we set goals and strive to meet them. While I do have various resources to challenge most of my students, my classroom does not include enough resources to spark the interest and challenge my gifted students. I would like to incorporate STEM activities that provide hands-on and minds on lessons for my students.
My Project
These materials will allow my gifted students to explore and use their creativity to participate in STEM challenges. Students will engage in hands-on activities that will spark their interest. STEM activities allow students to not only learn, but they can invent new things while having fun! My students will have something to look forward to when they come to school. This will avoid them having to learn all the time through using pencil, paper, and workbooks all the time. Colorful LEGO bricks and building plates will bring excitement and interest to my students as they think of, invent, and perfect many of their masterpieces.
