My students need these material to explore electronic circuitry using these materials. For example, they can construct circuits mimicking real parallel circuits that are used to operate lights in their classrooms.

My Students

My students come from all over Jersey City. As a charter school that enrolls students based on a lottery, we pull students from every neighborhood, economic status, cultural background and family structure. We are recognized as one of the most diverse schools in the state. There are 47 different languages spoken at home.

Our students are enthusiastic, community driven, and curious.

We follow CIRCLE values which stands for Community, Independence, Respect, Courage, Leadership and Effort. We live these values daily.

My Project

Students will use Chibitronic kits to construct real-life circuits. The project is part of a building study where students are studying area, perimeter and square footage. They will then design a building using their measurements. They building will be constructed out of cardboard.

The copper tape will then be applied like a circuit inside the building.

They will have to figure out the best way to light up their building. The lights inside the building will light up once the circuit is closed. The students will have to decide how many lights will come on once a circuit is closed. They can control how many and which light come on.
