Students in our classroom are eligible for services because they qualify as students with special needs. All my children have an IEP and receive specialized classroom programming and therapies within the classroom. Children in our classroom range from 3 to 6 years old. Serving a huge range of ages and disabilities can be very challenging but rewarding at the same time.
My students have a variety of needs.
They have speech delays, cognitive impairments, physical impairments, emotional impairments and autism. The families we serve are faced with daily challenges, and the students we serve are always surprising us with what they can accomplish when given the tools they need to be successful!
My Project
In our classroom we need an area where we can explore and discover, the science activity table will give us so many options all in one space. We will be able to discovery through magnifying, mirroring and measuring. New materials such as books, acrylic specimens, X-rays, bugs, sensory tubes, footprints and so much more allow for the children to explore and learns hands on.
Hands on science allows children to engage in learning using all their senses.
They can touch, observe, smell, question and make discoveries on their own. Children learn best when they are involved, learning is more meaningful when it’s a real experience.
