This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember getting lost in books as a child? Think of the anticipation and excitement you felt as your imaginations took you on magical explorations. Many students are seeking that exploration and excitement only a book can give you. Students are inquisitive, voracious readers who are craving to discover the newest adventures in books.
Students are book-loving, avid readers, and enthusiastic learners.
Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. As English language learners, books are so important to my students and are truly valued. I am an 8th grade Science teacher at a middle school in an impoverished urban area. Our school has classroom libraries that are essential resources for my students. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and rely on our classroom libraries to check out high-quality books. Each day students inquire when the newest books by their favorite authors will be added to the library and if they can be first to check out these books. There is a buzz about books and an excitement for reading. I would love to provide students with an array of books that teaches them about the world they live in.
My Project
These books will to enhance and expand the imaginations of students. Classroom libraries are a place students really enjoy. It is an opportunity for students to escape the world around them and expand their imagination. Every student book that is placed in a library is treated with love and care, and students are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with students in mind. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help students grow stronger in reading. Many students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
