My class consists of 21 students. There are 14 boys and 7 girls. All of my students are second language learners. They all have different needs and have a wide spectrum of educational backgrounds. Some have attended preschool and for others, kindergarten is their first school experience. They are all eager to learn and socialize with each other. I love seeing them engaged and excited during our exploration centers. During this time, they are creating, imagining and using social skills to help them become lifelong learners.
My Project
Many of my students come from low income homes and would love to see some great hands-on manipulatives to help them build their imagination. Legos and Magna Tiles will be a great resource to have in my classroom during our exploration centers. They will help my students improve their social skills as well as build their creativity. My students love to create cities, police stations and other building with anything they find. They would be thrilled to use Legos and Magna Tiles to create structures. It will be great seeing their smiling faces once they see all the wonderful resources for them to play with!
