This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have a diverse group of students who grew up in Washington DC. They are outgoing and have a lot of curiosity about the world and things around them. They are into exploration of different kinds of learning experiences and they all dream of becoming someone important in the future that could help change the world for better.

We do a lot of project -based learning so it's very hands-on.

However, due to lack of resources at home, most of my students have no WIFI or laptops to complete any school work at home as a way of enrichment to extend their learning.

My Project

The laptops that they can take home with will enable them to explore and extend their learning beyond the classroom walls when needed. The students are studying Chinese and Asian Studies which require lots of enrichment activities such as practicing the language online at home or doing visual fieldtrips of different countries. However, we are a Title 1 school and the majority of them come from low-income households.

These laptops will enhance and expand their project-based learning experiences.

It will also help my students to complete their assignments better and more efficiently.
