Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My First Graders are inquisitive students. They come to school every day with a passion to learn. They are motivated to expand their knowledge and help each other learn. My students are fascinated by the world around them and love reading and researching to learn more.
My students enjoy hands on projects and using critical thinking skills to solve problems.
I enjoy watching their faces glow when they solve a coding problem, ask each other for help, or sharing their new learning and experiences.
My Project
I teach First Grade in an impoverished city. My students deserve all the resources and opportunities I can provide. I have been fortunate to have chromebooks, robots, iPads, and various tech game projects funded. My students enjoy and learn while using these technology resources. They enjoy solving problems while coding, building robots, and learning how to create videos.
The ISTE conference will have a tremendous, beneficial impact on improving the implementation of technology in my classroom.
I will be able to attend workshops and listen to lectures about various subjects; including coding, global citizenship, maker spaces in the classroom, Google, and many other technological subjects.
I will be able to increase my computer science knowledge and improve the education of my First Graders by attending the ISTE conference. I will also present my learning to my coworkers in order to share and implement new technological practices in our classrooms and school.
