Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title 1 school in a rural area in Texas. Our students come from varied backgrounds and socio-economic levels all combined in our PK-5 elementary school. We strive to provide all of our students with the same quality education and availability to resources.
Distance Learning is a challenge to some of our students due to their access to technology at home.
We are using Google Classroom so students can do their classwork online without have it print and scan their work. For students who can't access the information, we are printing work packets for their use.
My Project
Teaching STEM is always a challenge - it require background knowledge, access to materials, organization skills, communication skills, high energy and a willingness to learn.
Access to quality STEM education resources from the experts will take our distance STEM learning to the finish line.
Not being in the classroom due to the coronavirus to teach STEM has been difficult. I just attended an online STEM education conference that was one of the best education conferences I have ever attended. The information was timely, and related directly to elementary STEM education. Most of the presenters offer their full resources on Teachers Pay Teachers. There is nowhere else that I can get such comprehensive STEM education curriculum at these prices.
These resources will make it easy to send to our students who need printed package as well as being able to post on Google Classroom for my students who will complete it digitally.
