My students need a camcorder and visual tools to better able see and hear how they read and present as well as to capture our Science Friday experiments!
We are learners at a Title I school, and my students come from a variety of backgrounds in our urban community. Many come from homes below the poverty level and are raised by single parents, grandparents, and siblings.
In our classroom, we encourage an environment of support and positivity.
They are learning to be positive role models, good citizens, and hard workers. I have students aspiring to be comic book writers, scientists, and firemen. They are learning that support from those around them, as well as encouraging those around them, is important to succeed!
My Project
Science Friday is a much-anticipated end to our week in 2nd grade! Exploration and hands-on learning is an integral part of any science learning and helps solidify concepts and ideas that a book simply cannot express. Recording the process and sharing the fun is an added bonus!
What better way to capture experiments and exploration than recording it on video so we can re-watch our classroom efforts and share them with other classes or families?!
Having a digital camcorder would allow us to do just that. We will be using both the camcorder and instant camera to document and demonstrate our learning process and conclusions.
