Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach seventh and eighth graders. They come from diverse backgrounds. Some have great talent and thrive in my art class, having prior experience with art. Others bring lots of personality, but have had little to no experience with art and therefore put little effort into their work. I’m looking to challenge all of my students and engage the ones who struggle with their work after all art should be fun! I love to provide my students with projects they can be express themselves through.

When I present supplies that are new or “special” (such as Prisma markers it lights up their faces) they feel like they are doing “real” art.

You should see their surprise and excitement! They love experimenting with new materials.

My Project

My students love keeping up with the latest advancements in the arts. This motivates students to create amazing artwork. Visual Arts are always changing and so are the interest of my students. Students in my classroom like to see contemporary art that is being created daily. They enjoy seeing what is popular in the arts in today's world, so I would like to keep my projects just as exciting so that it will hold their interests and keep them creating in my classroom.

Students are always looking for new materials to experiment with and I would love to give them the opportunity to experience multiple media.
