This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our 5th-grade class consists of 174 students, 90 boys, and 84 girls. As teachers, we are looking for learning experiences that provide students with rich, unforgettable opportunities that cement concepts taught in the curriculum.

Field trips are often the most memorable times students experience because they travel together as a class or grade level to locations they may never have visited.

Field trips enhance the curriculum and help students make concrete connections to what they are learning in the classroom.

My Project

The Reagan Presidential Library provides an educational experience that exceeds expectations. Some of the exhibits include Air Force One, Marine One, the early years of Ronald Reagan, a hologram of the Whistlestop Train Tour in the 1984 presidential campaign, and a First Lady collection. The education program is free to schools except for any transportation needed.

The Reagan Library’s exhibits, Discovery simulations and role-playing opportunities will deepen student appreciation for the complexity of the government, military decision-making, the need for teamwork, and how the press interacts with the White House to inform the public.

This field trip experience will enhance our Social Studies instruction now and in the years to come.
