Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! They love exploring their environment and learning new things. I teach Kindergarten at a Title I/Star School where more than 50% of our qualify for free and reduced meals and 20% are English Language Learners. Our students come from diverse backgrounds including English Language Learners and military families.
Our students are excited to learn and I want to give them the best possible school experience.
In addition to the school curriculum, my students are learning kindness, patience, and understanding towards all students with various abilities. I want my students to strive for the best and to keep their love of learning alive as they continue in their education.
My Project
I am lucky enough to be attending the Ron Clark Academy on April 18-19, 2019 (Thanks Donors Choose!). I will be learning from amazing master teachers on how to be the best teacher for my students. I will have the opportunity for professional development opportunities in all academic areas including language arts, math, and financial literacy. Attending the 2-day training will award me the opportunity to have observations and workshops that will give me many strategies that I can take back to my school.
I will be traveling from Maryland to Georgia and need help with some of the expenses associated with this amazing training opportunity.
I am requesting assistance with meal costs, the cost of a rental car, and hotel while I am in Georgia.
