My Students

In our Early Childhood Special Education classroom, we have children aged 3 to 5 years old who are receiving early interventions. We focus on learning and practicing all those fabulous skills needed for kindergarten.

Our school is in North Minneapolis, and it qualifies for universal free breakfast and lunch due to having an over 80% free or reduced-price lunch status.

We are a school community that tends to be viewed as underprivileged and disadvantaged; however, my students are amazingly curious, joyful, eager, brilliant, and kind. I can go on forever about how amazing these students are. These first years are critical as they form their relationship with school and learning!

My Project

Having the ability to learn from other teachers, expand on ideas or to enrich what we are already learning in class is an amazing tool to have access to.

In our classroom, we use the students' interests to drive learning and having access to a treasure trove of materials made by teachers would help us make learning fun!

Teachers Pay Teachers provides materials and activities that have already been created that fit what my students are showing interest in. It saves precious time, provides hands-on learning projects and helps foster a love of learning.
